Thoughts on the current market

My thoughts on the current market scenario!

The markets are going to be very uncertain and it is prudent not to take unnecessary trades trying to catch the bottom. The economic recovery seen last quarter is suspect to continue looking at the Covid scenario. There are news of lockdowns and measures to contain the pandemic. In these times, it is wise to protect capital so that we survive to trade when markets return to normal.

Incase one does want to take trades, the best way would be to be very rigid as to risk management and probably try to scale down position size so that one can keep a wider SL. The markets are extremely volatile and looks set to continue the volatile streak. 

My reading is that the markets will make a significant bottom before we can see an upward rally. It is my own personal point of view and not a trade idea!

Market views for the month of March 2021

Good morning!

Its been 4 months , Dec 2020 to be exact since I began sharing my calls real time on my Telegram group(link provided on my Twitter handle as a pinned tweet). Sharing the performance details at the end of this write up.

After a difficult Feb I am seeing the market behave in a way that is not very comforting and familiar to me. We are seeing gap days followed by trending moves accompanied by volume profiles. Normally a day like this sees a follow up or a range bound day the next day. However the next day turns out to be an opposite move again accompanied by big volumes. Typically this happens when a top or a bottom is being made and this is probably one of the most difficult times to trade. The same is reflected in my trades. The breakout trades are not moving well and in some cases the SL levels are way too far for my comfort.

Going forward, have decided to restrict my trades to NF and BNF for the month of March till the dust settles down and I am more comfortable with the market structure. However, incase a trade does come up on my radar in stocks in the meantime, I will definitely share the same on the Telegram channel. Till then I shall be sharing the trades on NF/BNF.

Good morning!

Yesterday we had a great run in Reliance and this was accompanied by a surge in volumes. However, there are news pending on this counter as there is a litigation in the SC now as regards the Reliance - Future group merger. The outcome can impact the move going ahead. Having said that, it is looking poised to continue the rally. Lets see how it pans out!

HDFC and HDFC bank were not moving as per expectations and we need to keep these 2 counters on watch as I believe any further up move in the indices need participation from these heavy weights.

Keeping these same counters on watch today as well, namely: Reliance, HDFC, HDFC Bank.

Another counter to watch out for is HUL as and when it breaks 2290/2300 levels.

Note: A lot any queries to me via DMs that why I dont hold on to the winners and why do I book out so fast.(special mention Reliance yesterday where it rallied 40 points more from where I exited). The simple and honest answer is that there is no way of knowing that how long the rally will last. I do day trading full time and as a full time profession. It is important for me to make money and I will take what ever is there on the table. There have been many instances where I have trailed and the price does a U turn and stops me out. The entire day after that is wasted away thinking I could have taken that money and not be subjected to greed. On the other hand if the price rallies, there is always a feeling of being left out when you take profits very fast....but its better to have a feeling regret with money in the pocket rather than living with the feeling of regret without taking the money that was on the table!

Good morning!

Today would be concentrating on HDFC twins and Reliance apart from BNF/NF.

If anything else comes up would be sharing the same on the Telegram channel.

The market is at a very interesting level. Yesterday we saw numerous attempts at 36k in BNF and 15k in NF. These are very important levels in both the indices. If it takes support here, we can see a renewed upmove and a failure to do so would open gateway to a further fall by 2% or more(not intra).

Yesterday we saw a sharp sell off in the second half of the day. Need to see if the selling continues or do we see absorption of selling pressure and another move up!

Back after the budget moves are done and over! Lets hope things are back to normal in the markets going forwards. The last week saw unprecedented moves in stocks and indices. Hope you all benefitted from the same in some way or the other.

Welcome to the new month!

As discussed in an earlier post, will be starting my attempt at compounding through NF options buying. Will keep updating the results here as and when the trades are taken alongwith the snapshot of the trade taken. Wish me luck!

Today being Budget day, will be observing and would ideally avoid taking a trade. No sense playing poker with our hard earned money.

Good morning!

Will not be concentrating on calls in stocks till the budget is over. There is too much volatility and hence its better to avoid stock futures at the moment. I will be taking trades only in NF/BNF and that too would prefer to take spreads so that there is a hedge that will save me from any unexpected spikes against my position.

Will return to normal trading once the event is over and behind us!

Idea is to see if I can start with a small capital of 1 lac and see how it grows. Still some work needs to be done on the same and maybe would start at the beginning of Feb(post budget).
